"May we disciples, by relying on the merit generated from this kṣamā of all kleśas such as greed, hatred, and delusion, vow that in life after life we will fell the banner of pride, dry up the waters of desire, extinguish the fire of hatred, shatter the darkness of delusion, uproot the root of doubt, tear apart the net of views, deeply recognize the tridhātu as like a prison, the four great elements as poisonous snakes, the five aggregates as treacherous bandits, the six sense-entrances as an empty village, and craving as deceitful affection; that we cultivate the eightfold noble path, sever the source of avidyā, proceed directly toward nirvāṇa without resting or ceasing, with every thought corresponding to the thirty-seven factors of awakening, and the ten pāramitās ever present before us."
