2.68

「復次慈力，能令一切，心得快樂，身離熱惱，得清涼樂；持行慈福，念安一切，以報其恩。復次慈有善利，斷瞋恚法，開名稱門，施主良田，生梵天因，住離欲處，除却怨對，及鬪諍根。諸佛稱揚，智人愛敬，能持淨戒，生智慧明，能聞法利，功德醍醐，決定好人，出家猛力，消滅諸惡。罵辱不善，慈報能伏，結集悅樂，生精進法，富貴根因，辦智慧府，誠信庫藏，諸善法門，致稱譽法，敬畏根本，佛正真道。

"Furthermore, the power of loving-kindness can cause the minds of all to attain joy and pleasure, their bodies to be freed from feverish affliction and to attain cool bliss; sustaining the merit of practicing loving-kindness and being mindful of pacifying everyone serves to repay their kindness. Furthermore, loving-kindness brings good benefit: it cuts off the dharma of anger, opens the gate of renown, serves as a fertile field for donors, is the cause for birth in the Brahmā heaven, abides in the state of detachment from desire, eliminates enmities and rivalries, as well as the root of quarrel and dispute. It is praised by all Buddhas, loved and respected by the wise, able to uphold the pure precepts, generates the illumination of wisdom, enables hearing the benefits of the Dharma, is the clarified ghee of merit, decisively defines a good person, grants vigorous strength to renunciation, and eradicates all evils. Abusive insults and evil deeds are subdued through the retribution of loving-kindness; it gathers joyful delight, produces the dharmas of vigor, is the root cause of wealth and honor, prepares the storehouse of wisdom, is a treasury of honesty and faith, a gateway to all good dharmas, brings the renown of dharmas, is the foundation of reverence and awe, and the correct and true path of the Buddhas.
