Establishing the power of vīrya, because one attains deep śamatha (deep śamatha is the name for fixing the mind in one place; this land has no such term). At that time, attaining deep śamatha and abiding in the fourth application of mindfulness of dharmas, one contemplates the marks of all dharmas as all duḥkha and without pleasure.
