The practitioner recognizes that dharmas are impermanent, suffering, empty, and without self, arising of themselves and ceasing of themselves. They know that through craving and so forth there is existence; they know that through cessation there is ending; they know that ending is the Path. Knowing the twelve links by means of the four kinds of knowledge is the Path of Right View. Sentient beings are deluded by bondages and attachments, just as a person who has a priceless jewel cannot distinguish its authenticity and is deceived by others. At that time, the bodhisattva arouses the mind of great compassion: 'I shall become a Buddha, and by means of the correct and true Dharma transform those sentient beings, causing them to see the right path.'
