2.60

一時佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園，那利樓鬼所住之處，末利夫人所造講堂。羅旬踰等一千長者子始初出家，請尊者阿難、摩訶迦葉、舍利弗等以為和上，摩訶迦葉教千比丘數息靜處。

At one time the Buddha was in Śrāvastī, at the Jeta Grove, Anāthapiṇḍada's Park, at the dwelling place of the Nalīra spirit, in the lecture hall built by Queen Mallikā. One thousand sons of elders, such as Raśmiguhya and others, had just renounced the household life and requested the Venerable Ānanda, Mahākāśyapa, Śāriputra, and others to be their upādhyāyas; Mahākāśyapa was teaching the thousand monks counting the breath in a quiet place.
