"'Birth and death are unbroken,
Because of greed, desire, and craving for tastes.
Nourishing enemies, one enters the graves and mounds,
Enduring all bitterness and toil in vain.
The body stinks like a corpse,
The nine orifices flowing with impurity.
Like worms in a privy delighting in dung,
The fool's greed for the body is no different.
The wise should contemplate the body,
Not greedily attached to the world.
Free of entanglements and devoid of desires,
This is called true nirvāṇa.
As all the buddhas have spoken,
Practicing with single-minded determination,
Counting the breath in a quiet place,
This is called practicing the dhūta.'"
