"If one wishes to ingest this supreme medicine of amṛta, one should first uphold the precepts, purify the deportments, and repent karmic hindrances and evil, unwholesome transgressions. Furthermore, one should fix the mind and tether the attention, sitting upright in one place, counting the breaths and holding the breath, contemplating the three hundred and thirty-six joints as before, causing the corners of each joint to face one another. The constellations, moons, and the like are also as described above. The mind becomes clear and sharp again, seeing that between each joint the moonlight is like clothing and the starlight is like thread, stitching and holding them together; he sees four suns rise, and two-thirds of the water of the four great oceans decreases; he sees five suns rise, Mount Sumeru completely melts, and the great oceans dry up; he sees six suns rise, visualizing these mountains gradually melting away; he sees seven suns rise, and the great earth blazes brightly. The ghosts and rākṣasas fly and remain in the air up to the desire realm, followed by banners of fire; they reach the form realm, and the fire follows there too; when they wish to go to the formless realm, their hands and feet scorch and shrivel, and they fall into the mass of fire, their terrifying roars shaking the great earth (when entering this samādhi, the great earth slightly trembles like a turning cartwheel).
