6.56

「爾時世尊而語像言：『汝於來世大作佛事，我滅度後，我諸弟子以付囑汝。』空中化佛，異口同音咸作是言：『若有眾生於佛滅後造立形像，幡、花、眾香持用供養，是人來世必得念佛清淨三昧。若有眾生知佛下時種種相貌，繫念思惟必自得見。』」

"Then the Bhagavat said to the image: 'In future ages, you shall perform great Buddha work. After my parinirvāṇa, I entrust my disciples to you.' The transformation Buddhas in the sky spoke with one voice, all saying: 'If there are sentient beings who, after the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, construct images and make offerings to them with banners, flowers, and various incenses, these people will certainly attain the pure samādhi of buddhānusmṛti in future lives. If there are sentient beings who know the various marks of the Buddha's descent, focusing their thoughts and contemplating them, they will certainly see them for themselves.'"
