"Having seen these supreme auspicious marks, the gods took no delight in celestial pleasures and generated bodhicitta. The Demon King's eighty-four thousand celestial maidens looked upon Pāpīyān's body as appearing like a dead dog, or like charred wood. Gazing only upon the light of the Bodhisattva's mark of the white curl, their hearts rejoiced beyond compare, and they were angry with Pāpīyān: 'In what you did before, you plotted to destroy another, only to lose your own army!' As these words were spoken, hundreds of thousands of countless sons and daughters of gods again generated the aspiration for unsurpassed bodhi."
