“How does one contemplate the Tathāgata’s moustache? From the tips of the hairs of the moustache blossom three rays of light: purple, dark blue, and red. Such light shines directly from the sides of the mouth, circling the neck upward, surrounding the circular halo to form three kinds of lines, which are distinct. Among the colors, the uppermost produces a precious jewel between each line; the light of the jewels possesses hundreds of thousands of colors. Beneath the jewels, white flowers support one another stem by stem. Having completed three circuits, the light then returns into the moustache. This is called the light-mark of the Tathāgata’s moustache.”
