"Under the soles of [the Buddha's] feet, from the mark of the wheels and from the elongated heels, a flower arises from each. Those flowers are subtle and wondrous, resembling utpala flowers of a pure realm, emerging from the Buddha's heels. They encircle the rays of light for a full ten circuits, flower succeeding flower. Within each flower are five transformation Buddhas; each transformation Buddha has fifty bodhisattvas as attendants; and above the crown of each bodhisattva there arises cintāmaṇi-gem light. When these marks appear, from each and every pore of the Buddha's body there arise eighty-four thousand minute, subtle, minor rays of light, adorning the bodily light and making it exceedingly lovely. Such manifold, variegated colors are called the 'constant light', the 'agreeable light', also called the 'light according with what all sentient beings delight to see', and also called the 'light that bestows eyes upon sentient beings'. This light extends for one fathom, and its marks are manifold. When Ghoṣila contemplated this light of the Buddha, it became small accordingly, and even when the great bodhisattvas of other directions contemplated the Buddha, this light became large accordingly, as spoken in the Avataṃsaka."
