The Buddha told Ānanda: "After the Buddha's parinirvāṇa, if the Buddha's disciples can with an upright mind contemplate the light of the Buddha's eyes, then in their present life their heavy hindrances will be eliminated, and in future lives they will always be able to contemplate the Buddha and never be parted from the sun of the Buddha. Even while abiding in a mother's womb, they will constantly enter samādhi. While in the mother's womb, they will see the Buddhas of the ten directions all emitting eye-light to illuminate their body; even while inside the shell of the womb, they will constantly receive the wondrous Dharma, not to mention when born outside! Such contemplation is called right contemplation; if one contemplates otherwise, it is called wrong contemplation.
