"At that time, the Bhagavat drew back the light of his body and sat upright on the golden couch. The great assembly gathered like clouds and returned to the Buddha's presence. King Prasenajit said: 'Bhagavat! The Tathāgata's appearance in the world brings vast benefit: he has manifested such great radiance here, not to mention the boundless merits of the rest of his bodily parts!' All the gods in the empty sky also praised the Tathāgata's hundreds of thousands of brahma-practices: 'Such are the brahma-practices of the Tathāgata that his supreme organ concealed in a sheath retracts leaving no trace, and displays golden lotuses and countless transformation Buddhas. This is the reward of holding the precepts, towering in merit.' When the women heard this exposition, four thousand among them brought forth the mind toward anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi; two thousand women left the dust and cleared the stains, attaining the purity of the Dharma-eye; and two thousand women, after twelve kalpas have elapsed in the future, will successively attain the path of a pratyekabuddha.
