"At that time, the Bhagavat conjured a jeweled cangue. At both ends of the jeweled cangue were fourteen pearls, each radiant pearl emitting a thousand beams of light; each beam of light transformed into a transformation Buddha, performing the eighteen transformations and standing suspended in the empty sky. The Bhagavat displayed a transformation, standing upside-down in the empty sky with his feet on the cangue. At that time, from the Buddha's two feet emerged a thousand lotus flowers, each lotus flower possessing tens of billions of light beams; in each beam of light were ten billion jeweled terraces; on each terrace were countless transformation Buddhas; and each transformation Buddha withdrew one foot, making the foot invisible like rolled-up vaidūrya. All the transformation Buddhas and Śākyamuni hung by one foot, standing inverted in the empty sky. Only the nirgranthas saw the Buddha standing inverted; the countless eight classes of gods, dragons, and spirits saw the Buddha, the Bhagavat, sitting serenely in the lecture hall expounding the Great Dharma, namely the teachings of signlessness, selflessness, and the like.
