“The Tathāgata also possesses an immeasurable Dharma-body, the ten powers, the fearlessnesses, samādhis, liberations, and various supernormal events. Such wondrous aspects are not the sphere of practice of you ordinary beings; you should merely arouse a thought of rejoicing with a deep mind. Having aroused this thought, you should again focus your mindfulness on the virtues of the Buddha. As for being mindful of the virtues of the Buddha, they are: morality, concentration, wisdom, liberation, the knowledge and vision of liberation, the golden thirty-two primary marks, the eighty secondary marks, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the eighteen unshared qualities, and the great compassion with its three foundations of mindfulness. If sentient beings once hear of the Buddha’s bodily marks, radiance, and virtues as mentioned above, they will not fall into evil paths for billions of thousands of kalpas, will not be born in places of wrong views and defilements, will always obtain right view, and will cultivate diligently without ceasing. If merely hearing the Buddha’s name obtains such blessings, how much more so focusing one's mindfulness on the buddhānusmṛti-samādhi?”
