「舍利弗！先佛度世去，有三因緣：一為宿命盡；二為不欲見佛度世去；三為無所復度脫。」
"Śāriputra passed away before the Buddha for three reasons: first, because his lifespan was exhausted; second, because he did not wish to see the Buddha pass away; third, because there was no one left for him to liberate."
