1.30

佛言：「愛欲之於人，猶執炬火逆風而行。愚者不釋炬，必有燒手之患。貪婬、恚怒、愚癡之毒，處在人身，不早以道除斯禍者，必有危殃，猶愚貪執炬，自燒其手也。」

The Buddha said: "Craving and desire to a person are like holding a torch and walking against the wind. If a foolish person does not release the torch, there will surely be the calamity of burning their hand. When the poisons of covetous lust, wrathful anger, and foolish delusion reside within a person's body, if one does not early on use the Way to eliminate these misfortunes, there will surely be danger and disaster, just as the foolish and covetous person who holds the torch burns their own hand."
