1.103

「善男子！末世眾生將發大心求善知識欲修行者，當求一切正知見人。心不住相，不著聲聞、緣覺境界，雖現塵勞心恒清淨，示有諸過讚歎梵行，不令眾生入不律儀。求如是人即得成就阿耨多羅三藐三菩提；末世眾生見如是人應當供養不惜身命。彼善知識四威儀中常現清淨，乃至示現種種過患，心無憍慢，況復摶財、妻子、眷屬。若善男子於彼善友不起惡念，即能究竟成就正覺，心花發明照十方剎。

"Kulaputra, when sentient beings of the latter age are about to arouse the great resolve, seeking a good friend and wishing to cultivate, they should seek someone of completely correct knowledge and views: whose mind does not abide in marks, who is not attached to the realms of śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas, whose mind is constantly pure even while manifesting in defiling toil, who praises brahmacarya while displaying various faults, and who does not allow sentient beings to enter into non-vinaya conduct. Seeking such a person, one will immediately attain the accomplishment of anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi. Sentient beings of the latter age, upon seeing such a person, should make offerings without begrudging their bodies or lives. That good friend constantly displays purity in the four deportments, and even if they manifest various faults and troubles, their mind is free from arrogance, let alone concerning material wealth, wives, children, and retinue. If a kulaputra does not arouse evil thoughts toward that good friend, he will be able to ultimately accomplish correct enlightenment, the flower of his mind bursting forth in radiance to illuminate the lands of the ten directions.
