"Samantabhadra, you should know / That all sentient beings' / Beginningless illusory avidyā / Is entirely established from all Tathāgatas' / Mind of perfect enlightenment. / It is just like flowers in empty sky, / Whose marks exist relying on the sky; / If the flowers in the sky cease once more, / The empty sky is fundamentally unmoving. / Illusions arise from all enlightenment; / When illusions cease, enlightenment is perfectly complete, / Because the enlightened mind is unmoving. / If those bodhisattvas / And sentient beings of the latter age / Constantly depart from illusion, / They will completely depart from all illusions. / Just as fire is produced from wood, / And when the wood is consumed, the fire is also extinguished, / So enlightenment has no gradual stages, / And upāyas are also like this."
