大慧刀真言曰（金剛合掌亦云歸命。刀喻利智，以能除斷為義。除惡見山峯，如大山之峯撩亂甚多，煩惱亦爾。今此印能斷害身見及俱生見、六十二見等，此刀即大智，或云定慧虛心合，能斷截諸煩惱，得無垢法身）：

The mantra of the Great Wisdom Sword (Vajrāñjali is also called taking refuge. The sword signifies sharp wisdom, taking cutting off as its meaning. Eradicate the mountain peaks of evil views; just as the peaks of a great mountain are extremely chaotic and numerous, defilements are also like this. Now this mudrā can sever and destroy the view of self, innate views, the sixty-two views, and so on; this sword is great wisdom, or it is said concentration and wisdom form a hollow-palmed clasp, able to cut off all defilements and attain the stainless dharmakāya):
