At that time, the Bhagavān observed the great assembly
and addressed the Lord of Secrets, saying: 'There are emblems of the dharmadhātu,
by adorning the body with which one traverses saṃsāra
to the great assembly of the Tathāgata.
By the emblems of the bodhi banners,
all devas, nāgas, and yakṣas respectfully receive instruction.
The initial mudrā is the Buddha's samādhi, the dharmadhātu, and the wheel of Dharma:
relaxing the palms, make the homage gesture; bend the wind and space wheels to press (on the sides of the nails).
The Dharma conch is a hollow-palmed clasp; twist the wind fingers above the space wheels.
The auspicious wish lotus, the vajra great wisdom mudrā,
the mahā-Tathāgata uṣṇīṣa, the wisdom-fist treasury of the ūrṇā.
The yoga posture of holding the bowl: stretch the wisdom hand upward,
called the giver of fearlessness; pointing downward, it is named wish-fulfilling (palm outward).
The wisdom fist stretches fire and water (pressing space); the wise one forms the Buddha eye.
Interlocking within the cord of the wind wheel, the heart mudrā extends the fire wheel.
Extending water is the Tathāgata's navel. In the previous mudrā, wind enters the moon;
this is named the Tathāgata's waist. Practice the mantras in proper order.'
