Athavā evanti puggalakiccaniddeso. Sutanti viññāṇakiccaniddeso. Meti ubhayakiccayuttapuggalaniddeso. Ayaṃ panettha saṅkhepo, ‘‘mayā savanakiccaviññāṇasamaṅginā puggalena viññāṇavasena laddhasavanakiccavohārena suta’’nti.

Alternatively, evaṃ is an indication of the person's function; sutaṃ is an indication of the function of consciousness; me is an indication of the person endowed with both functions. And this is the summary here: "By me, a person endowed with the consciousness whose function is hearing, who has obtained the conventional designation of the function of hearing on account of that consciousness, [it was] heard."
