Tassa pañca sambhārā honti – pāṇo, pāṇasaññitā, vadhakacittaṃ, upakkamo, tena maraṇanti. Cha payogā – sāhatthiko, āṇattiko, nissaggiyo, thāvaro, vijjāmayo, iddhimayoti. Imasmiṃ panatthe vitthāriyamāne ativiya papañco hoti, tasmā taṃ na vitthārayāma, aññañca evarūpaṃ. Atthikehi pana samantapāsādikaṃ vinayaṭṭhakathaṃ oloketvā gahetabbaṃ.

It has five constituent factors: a living being, perception of a living being, a mind to kill, the exertion, and death by means of that. There are six means of execution: by one's own hand, by command, by missile, by permanent installation, through magical lore, and through psychic power. But if this meaning were elaborated, it would involve excessive proliferation; therefore, we do not elaborate on it, nor on other matters of this kind. Those who need it, however, should take it after examining the Samantapāsādikā, the Vinaya commentary.
