“Of the five cords of sensual pleasure”: previously, by the phrase “connected with sensual pleasure,” the basis was rejected by way of sexual desire; here, the acquisition of sensory objects is shown. Then, it is said, hearing that such a son had entered the queen’s womb, kings from all around sent gifts that were objects of the five sense doors, by way of costly ornaments, musical instruments, and the like. And because of the abundance of past deeds of both the Bodhisatta and the Bodhisatta’s mother, there was no measure or limit to her gains and honor.
