Up to this point, ten knowledges have been pointed out: insight knowledge, mind-made knowledge, the knowledge of the kinds of supernormal power, the knowledge of the divine ear element, the knowledge of the minds of others, the knowledge of past lives, the pair consisting of knowledge of the future and knowledge of rebirth according to actions produced by the power of the divine eye, the knowledge of the divine eye, and the knowledge of the destruction of the taints. The analysis of their objects should be understood: therein, insight knowledge has a sevenfold object by way of limited, exalted, past, future, present, internal, and external. Mind-made knowledge takes only the visible-form base to be created as its object, so it has a limited, present, external object. The knowledge of the destruction of the taints has an immeasurable, external, and non-declarable object. The distinction of objects for the remainder is stated in the Path of Purification. "Higher or more sublime" means: by whatever method, there is no fruit of asceticism greater than this. Thus the Blessed One concluded the discourse with the pinnacle of arahantship.
