Ariyasāvako pana jīvitakkhayaṃ pāpuṇantopi chandāgatiādīni na gacchati. Tena vuttaṃ – ‘‘imehi catūhi ṭhānehi pāpakammaṃ na karotī’’ti.

A noble disciple, however, even when reaching the destruction of life, does not go by bias and so forth. Therefore it is said: "Through these four ways he does no bad deeds."
