Āvāhavivāhakānanti āvāhakā nāma ye tassa gharato dārikaṃ gahetukāmā. Vivāhakā nāma ye tassa gehe dārikaṃ dātukāmā. Apatthito hotīti anicchito hoti. Nālaṃ dārabharaṇāyāti dārabharaṇāya na samattho. Etassa gehe dārikā dinnāpi etassa gehato āgatāpi amhehi eva positabbā bhavissatiyeva.

"By those who give and take in marriage": those who take in marriage are those who wish to take a girl from his house. Those who give in marriage are those who wish to give a girl into his house. "He is not sought after": he is not desired. "He is not capable of supporting a wife": he is not able to support a wife. "Whether a girl is given into his house or comes from his house, she will just have to be supported by us."
