Rattinuṭṭhānadessināti rattiṃ anuṭṭhānasīlena. Atisāyamidaṃ ahūti idaṃ atisāyaṃ jātanti ye evaṃ vatvā kammaṃ na karonti. Iti vissaṭṭhakammanteti evaṃ vatvā pariccattakammante. Atthā accenti māṇaveti evarūpe puggale atthā atikkamanti, tesu na tiṭṭhanti.

"By one who hates rising at night": by one who by nature does not get up at night. "It was too late": saying, "This has become too late," they do not do their work. "Their work thus abandoned": their work being abandoned after having spoken in this way. "Opportunities pass by the young man": opportunities pass by such a person; they do not remain with them.
