the prajñā that properly sustains and enriches the household, and the bodhisattva's definitive prajñā regarding royal policy and the worldly ways of conventional transactions. What is the prajñā that brings happiness in this life and the next? It is of nine aspects: prajñā that is thoroughly purified and fully abiding in inner knowledge; prajñā that is thoroughly purified but not abiding in medical knowledge, logical knowledge, linguistic knowledge, and the knowledge of worldly arts and trades; and the bodhisattva's prajñā by which, relying precisely on those five thoroughly purified fields of knowledge, he properly instructs, causes to properly adopt, properly encourages, and properly delights those to be trained—namely, the ignorant, the negligent, the dispirited, and others who have properly entered, in that respective order. What is the thoroughly pure prajñā? It is of ten aspects: because it apprehends the reality of all that exists and the reality of things as they are, there are two aspects of the meaning of reality; because it properly apprehends causes and results, there are two aspects of the meaning of engagement; because it fully knows the non-erroneous and the non-erroneous just as it truly is, there are two aspects of the meaning of response; because it fully knows all that is to be done and all that is not to be done just as it truly is, there are two aspects of the meaning of means; and because it fully knows affliction as affliction and purification as purification just as they truly are, there are also two aspects of the ultimate meaning. Thus, those ten divisions of the five kinds of prajñā should be known as purified through the supreme purity. The word-meaning and so forth concerning skill in the means for maturing oneself and sentient beings
