زمت دجی اللیل للترحال أینقها لما تجرد سیف الصبح مصقولا و عارض الشمس اضحی مسفرا وفقی عند غطاء من الظلماء مسدولا پادشاه برای شکار ماهی در کشتی هلال پیکر سوار گشت و اعیان و ارکان دولت و خواص و مقربان مملکت بهسان نجوم سما گرداگرد ماه سیهر مجد و معالی آمدند، مغنیان زهره الحان در نواخت رودهای تر رباب آب دستی خود بر روی آب می آوردند، و به نواهای دلفریب سورت اندوه را از درون سینه اهل مجلس بیرون میبردند و ساقیان حور طلعت بادههای ارغوانی در اقداح لاله گون پیش حریفان مجلس می گردانیدند و از کمال سحرکاری در آب منجمد آتش سیال پدید میآوردند، شیشههای صافی پیکر حلبی از غایت رقت و لطافت از تنفس انفاس حاضران مانند گوی مشعبد بر روی هوا می رفت و کمیت سرکش مدام از فرط حدت و جوش از میدان کاس بیرون میافتاد، جرم لطیف هوا از عکس رنگ شراب گلکون بهسان بحر یاقوت مذاب مینمود و از بوی روح افزای راح چوبهای کشتی را طیب چوب صندل و عود حاصل میآمد:

melodies drove the onslaught of sorrow from the breasts of the assembly; and houri-faced cupbearers
passed purple wine in tulip-colored goblets before the boon companions of the gathering, and by the perfection of their sorcery
produced liquid fire in frozen water. Because of their extreme thinness and
delicacy, the clear Aleppo bottles floated through the air like a juggler's ball from the exhalation of the breaths of those present, and the unruly bay steed of wine
leapt out from the arena of the cup owing to the excess of its fervor and effervescence. The subtle substance of the air, from the reflection of the rose-colored wine,
resembled a sea of molten ruby, and from the soul-enhancing scent of the wine, the timbers of the boat acquired the fragrance
of sandalwood and aloes-wood:
And an assembly whose beauties were perfected in every respect, / such that description fell short of it;
