He was one of the disciples of Mulla Ahmad-i-Jand. He was an able Mulla, and quick and ready in controversy, but was not eloquent, and when engaged in teaching behaved grotesquely. His figure was ungainly. He spent his time in religious retirement. He came from Transoxiana to India, and taught for four years in the jami' masjid of Khwaja Mu'inu-d-din-i-Farankhudi in Agra. By the grace of God he was enabled to perform the pilgrimage to the two holy places, and in Makkah the glorious he departed this life, dying at the age of seventy.
