In this year Muzaffar Khān arrived in Bengal, and began a course of great strictness in his administration, and commenced wronging and oppressing the Amīrs of that district, and confiscated many of their jāgīrs. He practised the dāgh-u-mahall in the Court fashion, and the settlement of accounts in the old manner;—
