The Ata-bak, Zangi, ascended the throne of Fars after the death of his father. He was a great monarch, and was just, and ruled with a firm hand; and he brought the dominions of his father under his control and government. With respect to the rulers of the countries around, he guided his policy as the circumstances of the times rendered feasible; and he held the sovereignty of Fars for a long period, and died.
