[321] The emperor of the Mogul country, called Aurangzeb, has exerted himself to the utmost during twenty-six years to destroy his enemy Shivã Jī [the Mahrattahs] without having been able to do him any damage. When this king was encamped near a town in the Dakhin realms called Sholapur, he fell ill. This was on February 14 of the year 1707.
