3.31

anapekṣaṃ pramāṇatvamaśnute karmavākyavat /
parapravṛttyabhāve 'pi prāmāṇyāyaiva tadvidhiḥ //

it attains independence as a means of valid cognition, just like the sentences concerning action. / Even in the absence of activity on the part of another, the injunction concerning that [knowledge] is solely for the sake of [its] validity. //
