Even on the doctrine that cognition is formless, the determination of each respective object is established by virtue of fitness. To explain: by perception, cognition is experienced by each person in competitive eagerness as grasping the pot and so forth entirely devoid of the form of the object, and not as possessed of a reflection like a mirror and so on. And if cognition were to bear the form of the object, an oblation of water would have to be offered to ordinary usage regarding the object as distant, near, and so forth.
