“liṅgavyavasthayā liṅgī vyavasthāṃ pratipadyate
dhūmo hi yatra tatraiva vahnirnānyatra mīyate1”

“Through the restriction of the mark, that which possesses the mark attains restriction;
for fire is cognized only where smoke is, not elsewhere.” (1)
