(dvādaśe- nīvārādiṣu prokṣaṇāvātādidharmānuṣṭhānādhikaraṇe sūtram)|
dharmasyārthakṛtatvāddravyaguṇavikāravyatikramaprati-
ṣedhe codanānubandhaḥ samavāyāt ||

(In the twelfth topical section, concerning the performance of duties such as sprinkling and pounding on wild rice and the like, the aphorism:) / Because a duty is caused by an object, when there is a prohibition of irregularity in substance, quality, and modification, the connection of the injunction holds on account of combination.
