paśuś cen nihataḥ svargaṃ jyotiṣṭome gamiṣyati /
svapitā yajamānena tatra kasmān na hiṃsyate //
If a beast slaughtered in the Jyotiṣṭoma sacrifice will go to heaven, / why is the sacrificer's own father not slaughtered there by him?
If an animal killed in the Jyotiṣṭoma will go to heaven, why does the sacrificer not offer his own father there?
