Just as according to the principle that 'Apprehension [arises] from inherence in a composite substance and from a specific color,' although the cause of apprehension is present, the light of a meteor at midday is not apprehended because it is overpowered by the sun's light; so too, although the cause of apprehension—inherence in a large, composite substance and a specific color—is present, the visual ray is not apprehended due to another cause. And that has already been explained: namely, the non-apprehension through perception of a substance whose color and touch are unmanifest.
