atthi ṇaṃ bhaṃte! sadā samitaṃ suhume sinehakāe pavaḍai?
haṃtā atthi|
se bhaṃte! kiṃ uḍḍhe pavaḍai? ahe pavaḍai? tirie pavaḍai?
goyamā! uḍḍhe vi pavaḍai, ahe vi pavaḍai, tirie vi pavaḍai|
jahā se bāyare āuyāe annamannasamāutte ciraṃ pi dīhakālaṃ ciṭṭhai tahā ṇaṃ se vi?
no iṇaṭṭhe samaṭṭhe| se ṇaṃ khippāmeva viddhaṃsamāgacchai|
sevaṃ bhaṃte! sevaṃ bhaṃte! tti|

“Does subtle moisture-body, Venerable Sir, constantly and continuously fall?”
“Yes, it does.”
“Does it fall upward, Venerable Sir? Does it fall downward? Does it fall horizontally?”
“Gautama! It falls upward too, it falls downward too, and it falls horizontally too.”
“Just as gross water-body, having united mutually, remains for a long time, does it also do so?”
“That meaning is not tenable. It quickly undergoes disintegration.”
“So it is, Venerable Sir! So it is, Venerable Sir!”
