In Rājagṛha, up to [Gautama] spoke thus:
"How many earths, Venerable Sir, have been declared?"
"Gautama! Seven earths have been declared, namely: the first, the second, up to the seventh."
"As having what lineage, Venerable Sir, has the first earth been declared?"
"Gautama! Dharmā by name, [and] Ratnaprabhā by lineage. In this way, just as in the first uddeśaka on inhabitants of hell in the Jīvājīvābhigama, that exact [text] should be recited in its entirety, up to the relative numerical comparison."
"That is so, Venerable Sir! That is so, Venerable Sir!"
