jīve ṇaṃ bhaṃte! gabbhaṃ vakkamamāṇe kativaṇṇaṃ katigaṃdhaṃ katirasaṃ katiphāsaṃ pariṇāmaṃ pariṇamai?
goyamā! paṃcavaṇṇaṃ, dugaṃdhaṃ, paṃcarasaṃ, aṭṭhaphāsaṃ pariṇāmaṃ pariṇamai|
kammao ṇaṃ bhaṃte! jīve no akammao vibhattibhāvaṃ pariṇamai? kammao ṇaṃ jae no akammao vibhattibhāvaṃ pariṇamai?
haṃtā goyamā! kammao ṇaṃ jīve no akammao vibhattibhāvaṃ pariṇamai, kammao ṇaṃ jae no akammao vibhattibhāvaṃ pariṇamai|
sevaṃ bhaṃte! sevaṃ bhaṃte! tti jāva viharai|

"Venerable Sir, when entering the womb, into how many transformations of colour, of smell, of taste, and of touch does a soul transform?"
"Gautama, it transforms into transformations of five colours, two smells, five tastes, and eight touches."
"Venerable Sir, does a soul transform into diverse states due to karma, and not without karma? Does the world transform into diverse states due to karma, and not without karma?"
"Yes, Gautama! A soul transforms into diverse states due to karma, and not without karma; the world transforms into diverse states due to karma, and not without karma."
"Truly so, Venerable Sir! Truly so, Venerable Sir!" [Gautama said], and continues to dwell.
