These are [the lords] of the Vāṇamantara gods.
Among the Jyotiṣka gods, two gods abide exercising sovereignty and so forth, namely: the moon and the sun.
"In the Saudharma and Īśāna heavens, Venerable Sir, how many gods abide exercising sovereignty and so forth?"
"Gautama! Ten gods abide exercising sovereignty and so forth, namely: Śakra, the king of gods, lord of gods; Soma, Yama, Varuṇa, and Vaiśramaṇa; Īśāna, the king of gods, lord of gods; Soma, Yama, Vaiśramaṇa, and Varuṇa.
This discourse is to be repeated for all the heavens, mentioning whichever Indras belong to them."
"Truly so, Venerable Sir! Truly so, Venerable Sir!"
