"Venerable Sir, how many kinds of immediately reborn one-sensed beings are taught?"
"Gautama, five kinds of immediately reborn one-sensed beings are taught, namely: earth-bodied beings, [with] a twofold distinction as in the one-sensed hundred[s], up to gross plant-bodied beings."
"Venerable Sir, where are the places of immediately reborn gross earth-bodied beings taught to be?"
"Gautama, by proper place, in the eight earths, namely: in Ratnaprabhā, as in the chapter on places, up to islands and oceans—here the places of immediately reborn gross earth-bodied beings are taught to be; by rebirth, in the whole world; by samudghāta, in the whole world; by proper place, in an innumerable part of the world. Immediately reborn subtle earth-bodied beings, of one kind, uniform and without difference, are taught to be pervading the whole world, O long-lived Śramaṇa!
Thus, in this order, all one-sensed beings should be spoken of; their proper places for all are as in the chapter on places. The places of rebirth, samudghāta, and proper place of the developable gross ones are just like those of the undevelopable gross ones. Those of all the subtle ones should be spoken of just as taught for earth-bodied beings, up to plant-bodied beings."
"Venerable Sir, how many karmic nature types are taught for immediately reborn subtle earth-bodied beings?"
"Gautama, eight karmic nature types are taught. Thus, just as in the uddeśaka on the immediately reborn in the one-sensed hundred[s], in the very same way they are taught; in the very same way they bind [karma]; in the very same way they experience [it], up to immediately reborn gross plant-bodied beings."
"Venerable Sir, from where are immediately reborn one-sensed beings reborn?"
"Just as spoken in the general uddeśaka, in that very way."
"Venerable Sir, how many samudghātas are taught for immediately reborn one-sensed beings?"
"Gautama, two samudghātas are taught, namely: vedanā-samudghāta and kaṣāya-samudghāta."
"Venerable Sir, do immediately reborn one-sensed beings with equal lifespan duration bind karma of equal and distinctive increase?—The question is just as before."
"Gautama, some with equal lifespan duration bind karma of equal and distinctive increase; some with equal lifespan duration bind karma of varied and distinctive increase."
"Why is it said, up to: bind karma of varied and distinctive increase?"
"Gautama, immediately reborn one-sensed beings are taught to be of two kinds, namely: some have equal lifespan and are equally reborn, and some have equal lifespan and are unequally reborn. There, those who have equal lifespan and are equally reborn, having equal lifespan duration, bind karma of equal and distinctive increase.
There, those who have equal lifespan and are unequally reborn, having equal lifespan duration, bind karma of varied and distinctive increase. For that reason it is said, up to: bind karma of varied and distinctive increase."
"It is so, Venerable Sir! It is so, Venerable Sir!"

"Venerable Sir, how many kinds of mediately reborn one-sensed beings are taught?"
"Gautama, five kinds of mediately reborn one-sensed beings are taught, namely: earth-bodied beings, with a fourfold distinction, up to plant-bodied beings."
"Venerable Sir, an undevelopable subtle earth-bodied being who is mediately reborn, having engaged in samudghāta at the eastern border of this Ratnaprabhā earth, having engaged in samudghāta, is capable of being reborn at the western border of this Ratnaprabhā earth as an undevelopable subtle earth-bodied being?" In this phrasing, just as in the first uddeśaka, up to the end of the world.
"Venerable Sir, where are the places of mediately reborn gross earth-bodied beings taught to be?"
"Gautama, by proper place, in the eight earths."
In this phrasing, as in the first uddeśaka, up to those of equal lifespan duration.
"It is so, Venerable Sir! It is so, Venerable Sir!"

evaṃ sesā vi aṭṭha uddesagā jāva acarimo tti, navaraṃ–anaṃtarā anaṃtarasarisā, paraṃparā paraṃparasarisā, carimā ya acarimā ya evaṃ ceva| evaṃ ete ekkārasa uddesagā|

Thus the remaining eight uddeśakas as well, up to the non-final one; with the only difference: the immediately [reborn] are like the immediately [reborn], the mediately [reborn] are like the mediately [reborn], and the final and non-final are likewise. Thus there are these eleven uddeśakas.
