When a period of four crore-crores of sāgaropamas had passed in that age, with infinite modes of color, infinite modes of smell, infinite modes of taste, infinite modes of touch, infinite modes of osseous structure, infinite modes of configuration, infinite modes of height, infinite modes of lifespan, infinite modes of heavy-lightness, infinite modes of neither-heavy-nor-lightness, and infinite modes of exertion, action, power, vigor, masculine effort, and bravery declining by an infinitely-fold reduction—then, O long-lived śramaṇa, the age named Suṣamā began.
"Venerable sir, in this avasarpiṇī in Jambūdvīpa island, when the age Suṣamā had reached its highest culmination, what was the nature and appearance of the Bharata realm?" "O Gautama, it had an extremely flat and delightful surface, just like the face of a drum, exactly as was previously described for Suṣamasuṣamā; with this difference: their height was four thousand dhanuses; they had one hundred and twenty-eight ribs; a desire for food arose at the sixth meal; they protected [their offspring] for sixty-four days and nights; their lifespan was two palyopamas; the rest is just the same.
In that age, four types of humans appeared, namely: ekā, prapūrṇajaṅghā, kusumā, and suśamanā."
