gopyo mithaḥ kaṇṭha-vilagna-kaṇṭhās
tā rorudāmāsur alaṃ vilapya |
smṛtiṃ nayat pūtanikādi-nāśaṃ
yan mātṛ-santvāya muhur babhūva || [indravajrā]
The cowherd women, neck clinging to neck,
wept aloud, lamenting bitterly,
bringing to mind the destruction of Pūtanā and the rest,
which repeatedly served to comfort the mothers.
