[22] tad evam īdṛg-vayasi paryavasite tadādīnāṃ tāsāṃ saundarya-sārasya pracāraḥ sarvata eva prasarpan mātara-pitarādibhir nāpasarpayitum īśāñcakre cintayāmāse ca, na jānīmahe, durjanaḥ kaṃsaḥ kiṃ samprati sampratipatsyate iti |

Thus, when such an age was reached, the fame of the quintessential beauty of her and the other maidens, spreading everywhere, could not be suppressed by their mothers, fathers, and relatives, and they anxiously thought: 'We do not know what the wicked Kaṃsa might decide upon now.'
