[38] tad evaṃ sthagita-samullāse nikhile ca vrajāvāse vrajapaty-anumaty-anusāratas tāsāṃ pitaras tad-vitaram ācarituṃ ruciṃ vināpi bahir udyamam ācaritavantaḥ | [39] tat kumāryas tv atibālya-caryā-paryākulatayā na kiñcid api cid-amatratāṃ ninyire |

[38] Thus, with joy dampened throughout the whole dwelling of Vraja, following the assent of the king of Vraja, their fathers outwardly made an effort to arrange marriages elsewhere, even without any inclination. [39] But the maidens, occupied with their childhood activities, did not take anything to mind.
