[40] Now, a certain lady was often seen coming day and night from the caves of Vṛndāvana to confer secretly near Pūrṇamāsī, who was visibly Yogamāyā in the guise of an ascetic; and it was impossible to tell whether she was a mortal behaving like a goddess or a goddess behaving like a mortal. But because of her constant kindness, her wish to protect the play of Kṛṣṇa who guarded that forest, and her tender creeper of supreme affection for Rādhā and the others could be inferred. Though she made her name known as Vṛndārikā, people called her by her own abbreviated name, Vṛndā. And now, hearing that news that caused grief to all, deeply aggrieved, she came right into her presence.
